MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – Carrying the Russian flag at the 2016 Paralympics opening ceremony by the Belarusian delegation was a display of brotherhood between the two nations, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha told media after his meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 13 September, BelTA has learned.
“I, as a citizen of the Russian Federation, thanked the President of Belarus for the support of the Russian Paralympians. For us it is another demonstration of fraternal friendship between Russia and Belarus,” said Nikolai Bordyuzha.
The CSTO Secretary General added that the act of the Belarusian representative in Rio reconfirmed that Belarus is a true ally of Russia.
