MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – The 13th Belarusian International Media Forum Partnership for the Future: Digital Agenda for Media Sector aims to strengthen competence and exchange experience, Belarus’ First Deputy Information Minister Pavel Legky told BelTA.

“We want the forum to become as a practice-oriented event where people can get new knowledge, build their expertise and share knowledge and best practices.. Communication is important to establish and strengthen partnership. The most important thing today is education and exchange of experience. This is vital for Belarusian journalism if we want to keep up with the latest trends,” Pavel Legky said.

The main topic of the forum is digitalization of the media space. “We do not try to contrast social and traditional media. We say that the situation in general has changed. So have the conditions and the journalism paradigm. Today we need to attach more attraction to new forms and methods of work. This is related not only to technology but to the production process as well. We have spoken a lot about the quality of the content. Today we need to speak about content distribution, media marketing,” Pavel Legky said.

The 13th Belarusian International Media Forum Partnership for the Future: Digital Agenda for the Media Space will be held in Minsk and Minsk District on 11-14 September. The media forum will be attended by about 300 representatives of nearly 30 CIS and non-CIS states. The event is held as part of the tasks to digitalize the space of the Eurasian Economic Union, build the digital economy and information society in Belarus, produce quality changes in the activities of modern media. Special attention will be given to digital formats of media work, introduction of new media management technologies, cross-border information challenges and threats caused by an active entry of numerous online publications into the public life.
