MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko emphasized the need to develop the European Partnership (EaP) as a tool for building trust in the region during an informal meeting of foreign ministers of the EU and EaP member states in Tallinn, BelTA learned from the pres service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Oleg Kravchenko underlined the need to develop the European Partnership as a tool for building trust and bridging the gaps in the region. He called for strengthening economic cooperation in the EaP and carrying out specific projects to enhance the well-being of the population of the EaP member states,” the press service remarked.
The deputy minister said he is in favor of direct dialogue between the Eurasian Economic Union and the EU in order to stop geopolitical confrontation and ensure well-balanced economic development in the European continent.
The participants of the meeting discussed the preparation for the Eastern Partnership summit due in Brussels (Belgium) on 24 November, proposals on its final declaration, and also prospects for EaP-EU practical cooperation.
Oleg Kravchenko also met with several EU and EaP foreign ministers to exchange views on topical issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda.
