“You have been to Belarus quite a few times recently, and those visits were fruitful. The trading house of Azerbaijan is opening in Minsk today. This is an important result,” Vladimir Semashko said. He pointed out that there are four Belarusian supermarkets in Azerbaijan.

Vladimir Semashko said that Belarus and Azerbaijan saw a decline in trade in 2016. However, in 2017 the countries are gradually getting back on a growth track. “In January-April 2017, the trade went up by 16.4%. We should maintain the momentum,” the vice premier emphasized.

For his part, Shahin Mustafayev noted that Belarus and Azerbaijan maintain a high level of trade and economic cooperation. “We have brought a large delegation to Minsk. I hope that our businessmen will use this opportunity and work to strengthen the trade and economic ties. The presidents have instructed us to expand the range of products delivered from Belarus to Azerbaijan and from our country to Belarus and boost the volumes,” Shahin Mustafayev said. He pointed out that Belarusian products are very popular in Azerbaijan.

Belarus’ major exports to Azerbaijan are tractors, wood products, pharmaceuticals, chip boards, condensed milk, powdered milk, butter, glass, and oil products. Belarus imports Azerbaijani ethylene polymers, aluminium strips, and fruit juice.
