MINSK, 1 September (BelTA) – UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon met with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko in the UN headquarters on 31 August. During the meeting Ban Ki-moon expressed satisfaction with Belarus’ participation in the United Nations Organization, BelTA has learned.
In turn, Vladimir Andreichenko noted that the Belarus parliament was ready to put all efforts into implementing the sustainable development agenda, including by means of making laws, by interacting with the government, the private sector, the civil society, and by taking part in the sustainable development agenda fulfillment review process.
It was stressed that the Belarus parliament was ready to take part in the relevant parliamentary work at the regional and international levels.
The head of the lower chamber of the Belarus parliament is taking part in the 4th world conference of speakers of parliament. The conference is scheduled to take place in New York on 31 August – 2 September.
