MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) - Belarus hopes that new major investment projects with France will be launched in the near future, Belarusian Ambassador to France Pavel Latushko told reporters on the sidelines of the Belarusian-French Interregional Business Forum.
According to Ambassador Pavel Latushko, so far the French business has been slow in exploring the Belarusian market. Therefore the primary goal is to inform business about the opportunities in Belarus. Agreement has been reached with French partners in terms of positioning Belarus for investors from France and the European Union as a whole. “I think that such steps will help attract French investments. I cannot voice some information, but I think soon we will start a number of large investment projects with French companies,” the Ambassador said.
The Belarusian Embassy in Paris sees the development of interregional contacts between Belarus and France as one of its priorities. Over the past four years, the Embassy has hosted 35 presentations of economic and investment opportunities in Belarus.
Ambassador Pavel Latushko noted that the forum is attended by representatives of the Spanish business who expressed their willingness to learn more about the opportunities for cooperation with Belarus.
The Belarusian-French interregional business forum is running in Minsk on 30 November–1 December. The event will mark the 40th anniversary of establishing twinning relations between Minsk and Lyon. Attending the business forum are businessmen seeking cooperation with Belarus in industry, agriculture, energy, tourism and other areas. The program of the forum also includes a number of cultural, education and gastronomic events.
The event has been organized by the Belarusian Embassy in France and the Minsk City Hall.
