MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – In the run-up to the 2nd European Games Belarus is interested in China’s experience in organizing large-scale sports events, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with China’s State Councilor, Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun on 10 April, BelTA has learned.
The President drew attention to the forthcoming large-scale competition in Belarus. “In the run-up to the biggest mass sports event, the 2nd European Games, we are very much interested in the experience accumulated by China before and during the 2008 Olympic Games,” the head of state said.
He also stressed that the Belarusian side “pays much attention to emerging new challenges and old sensitive issues such as extremism, terrorism, separatism.” The People’s Republic of China is fighting against this evil, Alexander Lukashenko said.
The President also mentioned such topical modern problems as cybercrimes and active migration. “It is still needed to work out serious measures for the active cooperation in these fields,” the head of state believes. “So, there are many challenges, and the law enforcement agencies of the two countries will have to a lot.” According to Alexander Lukashenko, the Belarusian side is prepared for it.
