MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) - Belarus expects long-term benefits from the participation in China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, Sergei Terentyev, the head of the Asia, Australia and Oceania department at Belarus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told a press conference in Minsk on 4 October, BelTA has learned.
Arranging a large-scale national exposition at CIIE is one of the ways to increase Belarusian supplies to the Chinese market, Sergei Terentyev noted. He recalled that the task has been set to build up exports to China to $1.5 billion by 2020. "The goal is ambitious but achievable. We expect fast-paced growth of export," Sergei Terentyev said.
The China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the world's largest single block building and exhibition complex. The number of domestic and foreign buyers is projected to reach 150,000. The National Center for Marketing at Belarus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the organizer of the Belarusian national exposition which will consist of two thematic blocks. The national pavilion will occupy the area of 136 m2, and Belarusian enterprises will be allocated 642 m2 of exhibition space.
