MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Belarus should make more use of advertising to promote itself internationally, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai said in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA learned.
“You should undertake an aggressive marketing and advertising campaign to promote yourself. The world should clearly hear your message: welcome to Minsk, welcome to Belarus,” Taleb Rifai noted.
Belarus in general and Minsk in particular have become recognizable in the world over the past several years, the expert pointed out. This is largely thanks to the role that Belarus has started to play in the international arena as a mediator and a venue for important political talks. This has had a positive impact on the image of Belarus and its capital.
“Minsk is very clean, neat, and friendly. It is well-organized, including in terms of logistics, it is comfortable to navigate. This makes the city very attractive for many tourists. Minsk has a very high tourism value, it is on par with any other city of Europe,” Taleb Rifai emphasized.
