MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – Belarus is demonstrating more and more examples of digital transformation, Director General of OOO Bel Huawei Technologies Pan Yong told BelTA.
He emphasized the importance of the government’s commitment to promoting digital development. He noted that the efforts are bearing fruit. The country is welcoming more and more international companies that bring digital innovations. “Since Huawei launched operations in Belarus in 2001, we have been making our own contribution to innovative infrastructure development in information and communication technology. This gave a fresh impetus to mobile services providers and pushed upwards the sales of data terminal equipment,” he said.
The majority of employees at Bel Huawei Technologies are Belarusian specialists. “Today the company employs over 300 people, over 80% of them are highly skilled workforce from Belarus. Belarus boasts high standards in ICT education. We also contribute to professional development of our employees. Our company has trained over 1,000 highly qualified specialists,” Pan Yong said.
He informed that Huawei is actively involved in new promising projects, including in cooperation with Belarusian partners. It has opened an innovative center at the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone. This will facilitate faster application of cutting-edge digital solutions by the park’s resident companies.
As an example of successful international partnership Pan Yong cited effective teamwork of SAP and Huawei in developing high-capacity and reliable solutions for managing big data flows. For example, Huawei has developed a platform for SAP HANA applications in the real-time mode, which allowed optimizing internal systems and raising performance and enabled better response to business needs. According to him, Gazprom Transgaz Belarus became the first company to use SAP HANA Appliance. “Cooperation between Huawei, SAP and Gazprom Transgaz Belarus has helped fulfill an ambitious task to transform business processes related to critical data processing. This is not just a real example of digital transformation in Belarus, but also a huge leap to the society of the future where life is impossible without digital and smart technologies,” Pan Yong is convinced.
