MINSK, 21 October (BelTA) – Baku’s experience in hosting the First European Games will be useful for Belarus, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Azerbaijan Chingiz Huseynzade told media during the 45th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in Minsk on 21 October, BelTA has learned.
The Vice President of Azerbaijan’s NOC has no doubts that Belarus will host the Second European Games at a high level and is ready to assist in sharing the corresponding experience. “We will be happy to help Minsk organize this sport forum. I offered this help when I met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko today. We agreed to keep in touch as soon as the organizing committee is set up. If necessary, specialists from Azerbaijan will come to Minsk to help prepare for the Second European Games,” said Chingiz Huseynzade.
In his words, Minsk has a serious advantage. The city will not have to spend the amount Baku did to build sports facilities. Minsk already has all necessary sport infrastructure. “There are probably some facilities, which still need to be completed or overhauled. I am sure the Belarusians will cope well with this task,” Chingiz Huseynzade stressed.
Belarus got the right to host the Second European Games in 2019 after a vote at the 45th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in Minsk on 21 October.
