MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – The new military doctrine of Belarus has answers to challenges and threats that even trouble-free countries face today, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he opened the 9th session of the fifth convocation on 4 April, BelTA has learned.
“The new military doctrine includes a systemic answer to the challenges and threats that even many of currently successful countries face today. The document envisages measures to improve the defensive sector of the economy,” the Speaker noted. In his words, the use of the potential of the military industrial complex and the development of high technologies will promote the efficiency and competitive ability of the national economy.
Vladimir Andreichenko named the governmental program for 2016-2020 among the fundamental documents that are to be considered during the current session. According to the Chairman of the House of Representatives, the program offers a step-wise strategy for the implementation of the outlined course. “It is a result of close joint work of all government bodies in analyzing the situation and elaborating measures for bringing the economy onto the level of sustainable growth,” the Speaker said.
He also stressed that the program will include proposals suggested by the deputy corps.
Among other important tasks of the session Vladimir Andreichenko named the work to complete the Code of Judicial System and the Status of Judges, and also amendments to the criminal and administrative legislation.
