BAKU, 21 September (BelTA) – Azerbaijan and Belarus maintain very close and friendly relations. The countries cooperate in all avenues, trust, respect, and always support each other, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev said as he met with State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Stanislav Zas on 20 September.
Ilham Aliyev noted that the relations between the two heads of state give an impetus to the development of cooperation between all agencies in various fields, including the economy, foreign policy, and security.
Ilham Aliyev stressed that in the current difficult time it is important to correctly evaluate all threats and consolidate efforts in the fight against these threats. The President pointed out the importance of the visit of the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus to Azerbaijan for the development of bilateral relations and added that that the visit is important in the context of the cooperation development and prompt resolution of issues on the bilateral agenda.
Stanislav Zas, in turn, praised the dynamic development of Azerbaijan, and especially its capital city, Baku.
The participants of the meeting were satisfied with the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the economy, politics, defense, and other fields.
The State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus stays in Azerbaijan on a working visit on 20-23 September.
