MINSK, 2 July (BelTA) – Thanks to rural workers, agribusiness is a fundamental branch of the Belarusian economy, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the state awards ceremony on 2 July, BelTA informs.
“We appreciate the efforts of rural residents, many of them are present in this hall,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Thanks to your work, agribusiness is a fundamental branch of the country's economy.”
According to the head of state, not all countries conducted the full-fledged spring sowing campaign this year because of the coronavirus consequences, and now they many face starvation. “According to the UN, from 800 million to 1 billion people will be starving. And you have done your best to satisfy the demand for food in Belarus,” the president noted.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that both the agricultural and manufacturing industries held out in terms of the coronavirus crisis. “I am pleased to see representatives of such Belarusian brands as Keramin which products sell well in the country and abroad,” the Belarusian leader said. “We are very grateful to people working in culture and art. Attending this ceremony are people serving to all muses. State awards are presented to workers of the social sector, science and education. Your achievements and wise guidance help train young specialists and worthy successors to heroes of today. They ensure the continuity of generations.”
The ability to see true talents in girls and boys and to turn them into bright diamonds is the task of coaches. “Together with performing athletes, they glorify Belarus as a sports country of strong, smart and successful people,” the president added.
People are our main wealth. The Belarusian land has been famous for its talents for centuries. It is great that today we continue to fulfill the God's purpose: we are building our future with our own hands,” Aleksandr Lukashenko concluded.
