MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – Belarusian gymnast Yekaterina Galkina won the All-Around silver at LA Lights 2016 in Los Angeles, the first tournament of the season, BelTA has learnt.
The Belarusian was second best in all four routines. She collected 17,900 points with the Hoop, 17,800 points with the Ball, 18,100 points with the Clubs and 17,300 points with the Ribbon. Ukraine’s Ganna Rizatdinova scored a total of 73,500 to win gold. Bronze went to Carolina Rodriguez of Spain (66,950).
The top ten included four more Belarusian athletes. Arina Sharapa finished fifth with 65,500 points. Yelena Bolotina (65,100), Anna Bozhko (63,550) and Mariya Trubach (63,000) were 7th, 8th and 9th respectively.
Leader of the Belarusian national team Melitina Staniouta did not take part in the competitions due to an injury. In February the Belarusian rhythmic gymnasts will partake in a number of international tournaments, including the World Cup 2016 in Finland (24-26 February).
