WTA rankings: Sabalenka 4th, Azarenka 14th

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka remained fourth in the renewed WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.

Last week Aryna Sabalenka lost in the round of Last 16 at the Grass Court Championships Berlin 2021. Belarus’ Victoria Azarenka reached the semifinal of the event in the German capital and raised to the 14th spot in the WTA with the total of 3,880 points. Aliaksandra Sasnovich moved up to the 100th position with 818 points. Olga Govortsova goes 136th with 604 points. This week Aryna Sabalenka is to play at the Eastborne International where she will open her campaign against world number 71 Bernarda Pera of the United States. Victoria Azarenka will play at the Bad Homburg Open. The former world number one will take on Belarus’ world number 271 Yuliya Hatouka in the opener.

Belarus’ Egor Gerasimov goes 72nd (937 points) in the ATP rankings. Ilya Ivashka is 87th with 863 points. In Eastborne Egor Gerasimov will face world number 83rd  Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in the opener. Ilya Ivashka will take on world number 1133 Alastair Gray of the UK.
