Viazovich’s crew 4th after Dakar 2021 Stage 1

MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – Siarhei Viazovich’s crew of MAZ-SPORTauto Team goes 4th after Stage 1 of Dakar 2021, BelTA has learned.

One of the two Belarusian crews clocked 3:28.35 on the Jeddah-Bisha stage with a 277km special. Russia’s Dmitry Sotnikov of KAMAZ-Master Team took the lead in 3:17.50. Second was Czech’s Ales Loprais of the Praga Team, 7.56 behind the winner. Third came Russia’s Anton Shibalov of KAMAZ-Master Team, 8.07 back.

Second Belarusian crew under Aliaksei Vishneuski finished 17th due to technical problems. The crew clocked 4:37.13.

The Bisha-Wadi Ad-Dawasir stage with a 457 special will take place on 4 January.
