MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – The Day of Turkish Culture will be held in the fan zone near the Palace of Sport in Minsk on 27 June as part of the cultural program of the 2nd European Games, BelTA learned from the Turkish Embassy.
“The rich history of Turkey will be showcased by officials and people of art from Gaziantep, a city famous for its cultural and culinary traditions and a twin-town of Minsk,” the embassy informed.
The presentation will be held in a huge tent. Visitors will be able to see traditional Turkish art and take part in master classes. The program of the festival features a spectacular show of preparing famous Turkish dessert katmer (layered pancakes) and tastings of Turkish tea and coffee. The national cuisine will be presented by cooks from Gaziantep.
Young visitors will be offered a master class in making crafty dolls in traditional costumes. A zone of Turkish games will be arranged in cooperation with UNICEF.
Folk and modern Turkish music will be played in the evening.
“We are glad to be part of this important multi-sport and cultural forum in Minsk at a time when our bilateral relations are in their prime. I invite all Belarusians and foreigners interested in Turkish culture and cuisine to visit our events and get a unique experience,” Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Belarus Kezban Nilvana Darama said.
Those who will miss the events on 27 June are invited to visit the Turkish gastronomic tent that will stay open on 19-30 June. The tent will offer a broad choice of Turkish dishes, including doner kebab, flatbread, lahmacun, baklava and ayran.
