Tokyo 2020: Belarus’ Kurachkina into women’s freestyle final

TOKYO, 4 August (BelTA) – Belarusian wrestler Iryna Kurachkina has defeated Evelina Georgieva Nikolova of Bulgaria in the Women's Freestyle 57kg Semifinal to guarantee at least silver, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian took the lead at the very beginning of the bout and soon earned two points.

After a break, Iryna Kurachkina managed to maintain momentum and hit a takedown that brought her another two points. After a series of relentless attacking moves, the Belarusian clinched victory by technical superiority. Protests of Bulgarian coaches did not change the situation. The final score remained 11-0.
