Tender to design, build national football stadium in Belarus soon
MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – An international tender for designing and building a national football stadium in Belarus will be announced soon. These matters were discussed as Sergei Rumas, Chairman of the Belarusian Football Federation, presented his report to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.
The head of state was informed about progress in building the national football stadium. There are plans to announce an international tender for designing and building a stadium able to seat 33,000 people at the end of the week.
The President was also informed about the state of affairs in football. The Belarusian Football Federation and the UEFA are busy organizing a European football championship for girls under 17. The final stage of the championship will take place in Minsk and has to conform to certain standards. The head of state gave instructions to clean up the Tractor Stadium soon to allow Minsk to welcome matches of the final stage of the forthcoming championship.
