MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – The period of self-isolation has been reduced to ten days in Belarus. This decision was formalized by the Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. 591 as of 13 October 2020, BelTA learned from the government's press service.
“In order to protect public health and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 infection in Belarus, the self-isolation requirements have been updated - the period of self-isolation has been reduced to ten calendar days,” the press service said.
People in self-isolation are allowed to visit a healthcare facility to receive emergency medical care.
The document expanded the list of arrivals who are not subject to the self-isolation requirement. These are heads and members of official delegations; people who travel through Belarus in transit and leave the country within 24 hours; people who come back from business trips; people who transport stem cells and organs for transplantation.
Foreigners who arrive from the countries not included in the Healthcare Ministry’s list of countries where COVID-19 cases are registered must present a negative test for COVID-19 when entering Belarus. This test should be performed no later than 72 hours before crossing the border. This clause does not apply to foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in Belarus.
In addition, border service and customs officials will be authorized to make sure foreign citizens arriving from countries that are not included in the above-mentioned list have the required medical document.
