MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) – Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus climbed up to the 53rd place in the WTA rankings thanks to her performance at the Brisbane International women’s tournament, BelTA has learned.
Last week, prior to the tournament in Brisbane, the Belarusian was ranked 88th. She took seven victories to reach the final where she lost to Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina.
Arina Sobolenko of Belarus also improved her WTA position, going up from 73rd to 69th spot. Arina Sobolenko is currently playing at the Hobart International Tennis, where she came through Eugenie Bouchard of Canada (world number 83) 6-4, 6-3 in last 32.
