MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka has moved from the 7th to her career-high 4th spot in the recently published WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.

Last week the best Belarusian tennis player won the Mutua Madrid Open defeating world number one Ashleigh Barty of Australia in the final. Now, Aryna Sabalenka has a total of 6,195 points.

Former world number one Victoria Azarenka of Belarus is 16th in the WTA with 3,526 points. Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich goes 103rd with 788 points, Olga Govortsova - 391st with 586 points.

1. Ashleigh Barty (Australia) – 10,090 points
2. Naomi Osaka (Japan) – 7,8650
3. Simona Halep (Romania) – 7,050 
4. Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) – 6,195
5. Sofia Kenin (United States) – 5,905

Belarus’ Egor Gerasimov goes 78th (937 points) in the ATP rankings. Ilya Ivashka is 93rd with 831 points, Uladzimir Ignatik is 346th with 136 points.
