MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Minsk Guest Card will become available for tourists in 2018, head of the Sports and Tourism Department of the Minsk City Hall Sergei Furmanov told the media on 24 October, BelTA has learned.

“Minsk Guest Card envisages discounted admission to Minsk museums, landmarks, and, probably, sports events. There are plans to develop this card by the year-end and bring it into use in 2018,” Sergei Furmanov said.

In his words, the interest in the Belarusian capital has grown since the introduction of the visa-free program in Belarus. About 59,000 tourists from 68 countries have travelled to Belarus visa-free so far. The export of tourism services in January-August 2017 went up by 34.1% from the same period a year prior.

BelTA reported earlier that the state-run company Mingorspravka and the information and tourist center Minsk are co-implementing the Minsk Guest Card project. At the first stage, the project will comprise six Minsk museums (the Museum of Minsk History being the basic one), three theaters, and also museums located in other regions, among them park ensembles in Nesvizh and Mir, Mikhail Oginsky Museum in Zalesye, and the Zabrodye village-museum.

Negotiations on cooperation are now underway with food facilities, hotels, shops, and tour operators.

At first, three kinds of cards will be available for tourists – for 24, 48, and 72 hours, with the ones for 120 and 168 hours to be introduced later. They will be sold at infopoints of Mingorspravka and the information and tourist center Minsk, the Museum of Minsk History, and online. A mobile app with an interactive map and a printed guide isbeing developed at the moment.

Minsk Guest Card is a tourist program primarily designed to attract tourists and provide them with discounts and bonuses for cafes, restaurants, trade centers, museums, and other venues.
