VITEBSK, 22 June (BelTA) – The traditional international plein-air Vitebsk Is the City of Marc Chagall has brought together over 100 young artists from Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, BelTA learned from the tour operator Ilva which is the main organizer of the event.
Students of various art schools from Moscow, Zheleznogorsk, Lesosibirsk (Russia), Temirtau (Kazakhstan) and Bobruisk (Belarus) spent last weekend in Vitebsk where they enjoyed fascinating excursions and visited museums. Now young artists take part in the plein air contest which has been held in Vitebsk since 2003.
“Some people, for example, from Moscow, arrive in Vitebsk for the second time. They like the city very much. The are now drawing landscape pictures in the center of Vitebsk. From 25 June their works will be displayed at the exhibition hall of the Maladzik center of esthetic education at art school No. 3. This will be a gift to the city,” Ilva manager for special projects Yelena Podnebesnova said.
On 23 June young artists will go to Ilya Repin’s museum estate Zdranevo and take part in the master class of Vitebsk artist Felix Gumen. On 24 June they will travel to Polotsk.
