MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – The Show of International Gymnastics Stars will be held in Minsk during the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship 2015. “We are preparing the program that will truly amaze the audience,” the organizers of the tournament told a press conference at BelTA’s press center.

The head coach of the Belarus national rhythmic gymnastics team Irina Leparskaya recalled that this is not the first time that the show will be held in Minsk. She also told reporters that the European and world championships in rhythmic gymnastics have been scheduled by 2020. Belarus will not have a chance to host another tournament until 2020. Therefore the organizers of the coming European championships are going to make truly memorable. "Our long-term plans is to host the world championship in the new Palace of Gymnastics which will be finished by then," the head coach of the Belarusian team said.

The concept of the European championships 2015 is very interesting, the head of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association Yelena Skripel informed. "As the championship is held in the run-up to the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the association has invited war veterans to attend the competitions. They will have special seats in the stands and will be accompanied by volunteers. We are also preparing a performance in tribute to the 70th anniversary of the Victory,” Yelena Skripel informed.

The press conference participants called on the fans to come and support the athletes at the European championships. A hospitality zone will be arranged near Minsk Arena. Souvenirs of the championships will be sold in retail facilities, at Minsk National Airport. The product range and design are being finalized now.

The 31st European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships will be held at Minsk arena on 1-3 May 2015. The arena will be transformed to arrange the competition and warm-up zones. Therefore the seating capacity will make up 6,500. Tickets are available at the box offices of Minsk Arena, in all offices and on the website of the Ticketpro ticket operator.

The 31st European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships have been organized by the Belarus Gymnastics Association, The Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry, the Minsk City Hall, the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, and the Presidential Sports Club. The organizing committee is headed by Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Kochanova. It will be the second time Minsk has played host to the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships. The first time was in 2011.
