MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) - Belarusian swimmer Alina Zmushka has qualified for the 100m breaststroke final at the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris, BelTA has learned.
In the Sunday evening program 16 best athletes competed in the women's breaststroke semifinal. Alina Zmushka took to the pool in the first semifinal and clocked 1:05.93, which was strong enough to advance to the final. The final will be held in the evening of 29 July.
Earlier on 28 July France’s Leon Marchand won gold in the men's 400m individual medley final with the time of 4:02:95 to set a new Olympic record, shattering the record set by Michael Phelps at the Beijing Games in 2008. Belarusian Anastasiya Shkurdai will compete in the women’s 100m backstroke on Monday, 29 July.
