MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – The new clinical center which will soon be opened in the village of Zhdanovichi, Minsk District will provide medical services for up to 10,000 people, physician-in-chief of the National Clinical Medical Center Irina Abelskaya told the media following a meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 7 December, BelTA informs.

The facility is to be commissioned in late 2017 or early 2018 to become operational in January. The new center is expected to provide medical services to officials and people who have made a remarkable contribution to Belarus’ development. Those who have a private health insurance or a direct contract with the center will also be admitted. “The clinical center will offer separate high-technology services. They will also be available to the citizens, according to an agreement with the Healthcare Ministry. This refers to cardiac surgery, in particular,” Irina Abelskaya clarified.

She underlined that the facility will boast cutting-edge medical technologies, utmost professionalism, and brand new medical equipment.

The National Clinical Medical Center will transfer the ownership of its existing material resources to Minsk. They will be handed over to Minsk City Clinical Hospital No. 2, added Belarusian Healthcare Minister Valery Malashko. The hospital will later be transformed into a clinical center. This will help augment the material and technical resources, expand the scope of medical services, and provide high-technology medical aid. “These will be multipurpose health services. The center will be one of a kind in Minsk and Belarus, in general,” the minister remarked.
