MOSCOW, 19 May (BelTA) – The National Belarusian Drama Theater will show the production The Quiet Rustle of Departing Steps at the Chekhov International Theater Festival in Moscow, BelTA learned from the press center of the festival.
The performance was produced in 2013 by young director from Kyrgyzstan Shamil Dyikanbayev with the support of the International Confederation of Theater Associations. It is based on a play by Belarusian playwright Dmitry Bogoslavsky and will be presented to the Moscow audience on 24 and 25 May.
It will not be the first time that a Belarusian play has been included in the program of the Chekhov International Theater Festival. Performances The Wedding and The Office of the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater were shown in Moscow in 2010 and 2013.
Moscow is hosting the 12th edition of the Chekhov International Theater Festival from 13 May till 17 July. Its program features 19 performances of different genres from 12 countries.
