MINSK, 1 May (BelTA) - Minsk will gather European theater troupes for the Second Forum of Street Theaters on 10-11 May, BelTA learnt from the organizers of the event.
The festival will start with the carnival procession of the actors from the City Hall to the performance venues in the Upper Town. The residents and guests of Minsk will have an opportunity to see over 20 performances by the theaters of Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Ukraine, and Belarus for free and without any tickets. During the breaks between the performances people will enjoy the living statues, live music and watch movies in the old streets of Minsk.
This year the forum will feature a vast education program: the professors from the universities of Minsk and the participants of the festival will hold lectures on theater and space, workshops on juggling, interactive theater, performance, body mobility, and creation of the images of living statues. The guest from France Floriane Gaber, street theater critic and author of two works on the history of street arts, will give a free lecture on street theater in Europe and France.
Grodno is also getting ready for the international festival of street arts Grand Teatro. For the first time the festival was held in 2013, and in August 2014 Grodno will host the second edition of the event. The participants of the festival will present their programs during the Minsk Forum of Street Theaters: the visitors will see illusionists, jugglers, equilibrists, singers, dancers, and actors.
The forum has been organized by the Modern Arts Center and the Minsk City Hall. The partners of the festival are: the Polish Institute in Minsk, the French Embassy in Belarus, the EuroBelarus International Consortium, and the IT House of the Belarusian State University.
