MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – Day of Sweden will be held in Minsk’s Upper Town on 3 June, BelTA learned from Minsk City Hall.
The festival of Swedish language, culture, history, education, music and cuisine will wrap up the Week of Sweden that kicked off in the Belarusian capital on 29 May.
On Saturday the Upper Town of the capital will host a concert of the choir Concordia and the symphony trio Vytoki. Piotr Klyuyev’s cover band will perform the hits of ABBA, Ace of Base, Roxette, the Cardigans. Legion Street Dancers will dance break and hip-hop. An evening concert will feature Secret Service band, who will be preceded by the Belarusian band NaviBand.
The festival will also feature cultural, educational, information, children’s and sport programs. Craftsmen will offer master classes. Travel agencies will provide information on tours to Sweden. Re-enactors will get Minskers and guests of the capital familiar with the equipment, games and traditions of the Vikings.
The festival of Swedish culture is held by the Embassy of Sweden in Belarus jointly with Minsk City Hall.
Festivals of national cultures will be held in the Belarusian capital through October. The festival of the Russian culture is scheduled for 10 June, Kazakh culture – 17 June, Lithuanian culture – 24 June, Finnish culture – 29 July, Korean culture – 5 August, Azerbaijani culture – 12 August, Ukrainian culture – 19 August, Armenian culture – 26 August, Indian culture – 27 August, Georgian culture – 2 September, Italian culture – 3 September, Polish culture – 16 September, Jewish culture – 17 September, and Greek culture – 23 September.
