MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Railways will act as an organizer of the 62nd meeting of the CIS Rail Transport Council in Minsk on 21-22 May, BelTA learnt from the press service of Belarusian Railways Company.
“The organization of the meeting and participation in it is an important event for Belarusian Railways to develop international cooperation in 2015,” specialists noted.
According to Belarusian Railways, Minsk will host delegations of the railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine. Apart from that, representatives of Georgia, Latvia, Bulgaria, Finland, Lithuania, Estonia and Iran are expected in the Belarusian capital as well.
The program of the event will comprise the talks between representatives of Belarusian Railways, Russian Railways and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
The CIS Rail Transport Council and its executive board (directorate) were founded in 1992. The council attaches its primary attention to securing the technological unity of the railways. The council develops the annual traffic schedule and the international traffic plan.
The previous meeting was held in Baku, Azerbaijan in October 2014.
