MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent a letter of birthday greetings to Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Today the Belarusian Orthodox Church preserves and multiplies the spiritual and cultural legacy of our country, instills love, kindness and compassion in people’s hearts, promotes patriotism and inspires people to make new accomplishments,” the president remarked.

The head of state expressed hope that the involvement of Metropolitan Pavel in this noble mission will be active and productive.
