MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – The Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater will show The Seagull in Moscow on 24 November, BelTA learned from the theater.
An agreement on cooperation between the Culture Ministries of the Russian Federation and Belarus provides for exchange tours between the leading theaters of the two countries. In October last year, the Kupala theater hosted the Chekhov Moscow Drama Theater who brought The House by Sergei Puskepalis. Now, the Russian audience will see The Seagull produced by Belarus’ oldest theater. The production will be shown in the Russian Academic Youth Theater.
The Kupala theater premiered the production in March 2015. Art director is Nikolai Pinigin. The production features leading actors of the Kupala theater: Belarus’ Honored artist Zoya Belokhvostik, Belarus’ People's Artist Viktor Manaev, Belarus’ Honored Artist Alexander Podobed, and also Valentina Gartsueva, Alexander Kazello, Roman Podolyako.
In Minsk the production is shown in the Belarusian language with simultaneous translation into English. In Moscow, the actors will also perform in Belarusian. The play will be subtitled in Russian.
