MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes took part in the first leg of the 2024 International Sambo Grand Prix series at Kuzbass Arena in Kemerovo, Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry.
Competing in seven weight categories were sambo athletes from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. Mikhail Kukharenka clinched bronze in the 88kg event. Vladislav Panov from Russia collected the champion title.
The second leg of the 2024 International Sambo Grand Prix series will feature combat sambo events in Ulan-Ude in May. Sport sambo and combat sambo events will take place in Krasnodar in June. Women will compete in St. Petersburg in August. The Grand Prix finals will be held in Kazan in December.
