MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – The international Christmas festival Radost (Joy) will be running in the Minsk Palace of Sports from 26 December to 6 January, BelTA learned from the organizers.
The festival will unite cultural, spiritual, children’s and charitable programs and the Christmas fair that will be prepared by monasteries and parishes from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia and Greece.
The festival will kick off on 26 December. The opening ceremony will be attended by Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Zaslavl, representatives of government bodies. “A gift to the city will be made at the ceremony. It is a mosaic picture with the image of the Minsk emblem,” the organizers said.
The Christmas Windows exposition will be erected at the center of the festival venue. Visitors will have an opportunity to make a virtual journey across the countries participating in the forum, and also Japan and Brazil. The national evenings will demonstrate traditions, culture and cuisines of the countries.
The program of the festival will also include meetings with artistic people, presentations, concerts and entertainment for children.
A charity campaign to be held during the festival will provide an opportunity for everyone to share the joy of the holiday with children from needy families and orphanages.
