MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – Belarusian water-skier Aliaksandra Danisheuskaya clinched the water ski jump gold at the 2019 World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
The second attempt of 49.5m turned to be a success for the Belarusian. Jutta Menestrina of Finland recorded 49.3m to place second. Bronze went to Belarus’ Hanna Straltsova (49m).
“All these girls had really close scores so it was hard to wait because I didn’t have a big score to beat, but I’m obviously super happy, I don’t think I’ve even realized it yet," Aliaksandra Danisheuskaya said.
The World Beach Games in Doha will run through 16 October. Athletes are competing in 14 medal events: beach soccer, football, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, 3x3 basketball, aquathlon, corfball, wakeboard, water skiing, skateboarding, open water swimming, karate kata and bouldering (sport climbing). More than 1,240 athletes are taking part in the competitions.
