MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) - Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres of France won the gold in the pairs event at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The French pair amassed 225.66 in total as they claimed the title. The defending champions Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morosov of Russia had to settle for the second place (218.82 points) and their teammates Aleksandra Boikova and Dmitri Kozlovskii finished third with 205.28 ppoints.
Ice dancers will hit the ice of Minsk Arena on 25 January for the short program, including Belarusian Anna Kublikova and Yuri Gulitsky.
The winners in the men’s singles will be named on 26 January after free skate.
The championships will end on 27 January with a gala performance.
