The Days of Belarusian Culture opened with a concert in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat on 7 October. The concert featured performances by Belarusian musicians and dancers famous not only in Belarus but also abroad, Irina Driga noted. Among those were the dance company Khoroshki, the Pesnyary band, People’s Artists of Belarus Alexander Tikhonovich and Yadviga Poplavskaya, soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus, Honored Artist of Belarus Nina Sharubina, and Honored Artist of Belarus Alyona Lanskaya.

Irina Driga noted that the program of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Turkmenistan features an exhibition of works of decorative and applied arts by Belarusian artists. It will open at the Turkmen Museum of Fine Arts on 8 December. The visitors will be invited to take part in workshops by Belarusian craftsmen.

Other events on the program include the Days of Poetry. Belarusian poets and writers will meet with their Turkmen colleagues to discuss ways to boost ties, matters related to translation of works into foreign languages, and others. Besides, a set of books about the social, economic, and political life in Belarus, the country’s history and culture will be donated to the State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan on 9 December.

The Belarusian films “Belye Rosy. Return”, “Apostles’ Footprints”, and “Belarus. Four Years of War” will be screened as part of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Turkmenistan from 9 to 12 December.

Ashgabat will not be the only city to host the Days of Belarusian Culture. A concert by Belarusian culture workers will be held in Turkmenabat on 9 December.

On 10 December, Belarusian and Turkmen musicians will jointly give a concert to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 20th anniversary of the Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
