GOMEL, 10 January (BelTA) – Dozens of enterprises and organizations of Gomel Oblast have joined the Christmas charity campaign “With All Our Heart” aimed to help families who moved from Lugansk Oblast and Donetsk Oblast to Gomel Oblast, BelTA learned from the press service of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.
The campaign was announced at the end of 2014 and was initiated by the regional branch of the Belarusian Red Cross Society and the Gomel TV and Radio Company. They coordinate the fund-raising activities and provide information support to the campaign. The campaign will culminate in a charity concert at the Gomel Puppet Theater. The gala will bring together local artists, sponsors and partners of the program. Some part of the aid will be handed over to Ukrainian migrants during the event.
According to the recent data, dozens of enterprises and organizations, as well as individuals have already announced their plans to help the Ukrainians. For example, the Gomel Eparchy has already given household appliances (washing machines, a refrigerator and a boiler) to four Ukrainian families living in Dobrush District. The Gomel branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will donate kitchenware and bedclothes. The Krasny Mozyryanin confectionery will give 200 sets of sweets to Ukrainian children, while the Baticelli footwear company will donate children’s footwear. OAO Garant will connect ten Ukrainian families to the Internet free of charge.
The Gomel branch of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, the Belarusian Union of Women, the regional branch of Belaya Rus, the Club of Businesswomen and other NGOs will also make a contribution to the cause.
