MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – Darya Domracheva of Belarus claimed the Women’s 7.5K Sprint bronze of the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon in Kontiolahti, Finland on 10 March, BelTA has learned.
Norway’s Tiril Eckhoff shot clean for her first win of the season in 19:18.5. Germany’s Laura Dahlmeier, with one penalty was second, 18.3 seconds back. Darya Domracheva matched Tiril Eckhoff on the shooting range to finish third, 20.4 seconds back (19:38.8).
The Belarusian was second in the Women’s 10K Pursuit at the IBU World Championships Biathlon in Hochfilzen, Austria in February 2017.
Nadezhda Skardino of Belarus shot clean to finish 26th in the women’s 7.5K sprint on Friday, 1:10.4 back. Her teammate Darya Yurkevich was 61st (2:08.1 behind). Irina Krivko crossed the finish line in the 69th position (2:30.2 back), while Nadezhda Pisareva completed the race 80th (3:00.3 back). Competing in the sprint were 94 athletes.
Martin Fourcade grabbed his 13th win of the season in the Men’s 10K Sprint on Friday, in 22:17 with one penalty. He broke Ole Einar Bjorndalen's record of 12 victories. Dmitry Abashev of Belarus was 49th (1:54.8 back).
