GOMEL, 13 May (BelTA) – Official delegations from 13 countries will take part in the international expo Spring in Gomel that will take place in the Gomel Oblast capital city on 19-21 May, BelTA learned from Marina Filonova, Director General of the Gomel branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is the organizer of the forum.

As many as 110 people (twice as many as last year) will arrive in Gomel in 21 delegations from CIS and non-CIS states. They will represent state and private organizations. “The interest in the event is strong. The foreign guests have notified us that in addition to visiting the expo they would like to meet with representatives of specific enterprises. Taking into account the large number of similar requests one can assume that the expo will become a major negotiation venue for businessmen,” noted Marina Filonova.

The location of this year’s Spring in Gomel expo has been moved to Rechitsky Avenue. The expo will feature products by over 100 Gomel Oblast enterprises. The exposition will be divided into five sectors that describe the structure of Gomel Oblast’s economy, including hospitality business, tourism business, art industry, and other sectors. The total area of the expo will be close to 5,200m2, which is 1,000m2 more than last year.

The national crafts festival Gomel Spring will be held on the sidelines of the expo. About 200 applications from craftsmen and skilled individuals from all over Belarus have been submitted. The crafts festival is expected to demonstrate talents and originality of the Belarusian nation, their skills and cultural legacy.
