VITEBSK, 16 March (BelTA) – An independent project dedicated to Italian culture and art may become part of the program of the 26th international art festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, BelTA learned from Alexander Sidorenko, director of the forum and President of the World Association of Festivals (WAF), on 16 March.
Alexander Sidorenko said: “We constantly stay in touch with our partners in different countries and with diplomatic missions. A short while ago I met with the ambassador of Italy to Belarus. We talked about the possibility of arranging an Italian project as part of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk. If an Italian day is too much, then at least a program made up of several events may be in order: a concert featuring instrumentalists from a musical academy, an exhibition by an Italian painter and other events. Everything under the aegis of the Embassy of Italy in the Republic of Belarus.”
He added that the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk directorate had established tight ties with organizers of a couple of Italian festivals. There are tentative plans for joint projects outside the framework of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk.
“We also talk to our partners in the World Association of Festivals nearly every day. By the way, we continue getting applications for WAF membership. A bit later we are going to announce an independent project within the framework of the forum. It will feature winners of various international contests of festivals arranged by WAF members. It will be a great opportunity for performers to see and hear each other,” remarked Alexander Sidorenko.
