Minsk, 4 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Daryia Barysevich won silver in the women’s 800m at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix, Poland, BelTA has learned.
She clocked 2:02.13 to place second behind the experienced Rose Marie Almanza of Cuba (2:01.77). Jemma Rekkie from the UK was third with 2:02.19. 2015 world champion Maryna Arzamasova of Belarus was fourth (2:03.02).
Poland’s Wojciech Nowicki was victorious in the hammer at the Poznan Grand Prix with the result of 81.74m. His team fellow Pawel Fajdek was second with 79.37m. Zakhar Makhrosenka from Belarus came in third with 72.97m.
Leading Belarusian athletes continue to train for the atheletics match Europe vs United States, which will be held at Minsk Dinamo Stadium on 9-10 September, World Cup in Doha (27 September-6 October). Tomorrow, on July 5, they will take part in the Diamond League in Lausanne, Switzerland.
