VITEBSK, 10 November (BelTA) – Darya Domracheva is expected to pay a visit to the Novopolotsk Olympic School on 10 November to give a master class to young biathlon athletes, BelTA learnt from the Novopolotsk City Hall.
The three-time Olympic champion will visit the sport facility to see its dormitory, training buildings, sport complex, canteen and museum. At the ski and roller track Darya Domracheva will give a master class to the best students of the Biathlon Department.
According to Director Valery Gushchin, the ski and roller track of the school is one of the best tracks in the country. Darya Domracheva will discuss the prospects of improving the material and technical base of the school, the development of the children’s and youth’s biathlon and other issues with the Novopolotsk authorities.
The Novopolotsk Olympic School trains young athletes in biathlon, rowing, judo-sambo, track and field athletics (hammer throwing and speed walking), cross-country skiing, swimming, weightlifting. For the time of its operation the school has trained one Honored Master of Sports, 16 international master of sport, 113 masters of sport of the Republic of Belarus, 196 sub-master athletes. Partaking in the Olympic Games were the following students of the school: skier Yekaterina Rudakova, biathlete Yevgeny Abramenko, weightlifters Sergei Lagun and Gennady Makhviyenya, rower Kirill Lemeshkevich.
