MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – Thirteen laboratories in Belarus carry out coronavirus testing, Healthcare Minister Vladimir Karanik said during a live stream on the Youtube channel of the National Press Center on 8 April, BelTA has learned.
According to the minister, the laboratories work 24/7. He added that the laboratories in Vitebsk will additionally use the tests developed by Vitebsk State Medical University. “This will increase the capacity of our laboratories,” Vladimir Karanik said.
“We are testing and certifying rapid tests that determine antibodies to the virus instead of the virus RNA,” he said. Such rapid tests allow getting tentative results faster, which enables a fast triage of patients and identification of people who have experienced this disease with a mild clinical presentation and developed an immunity.
