MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – The concert of famous Ecuadorian musicians Jorge Saade and David Harutyunyan held at the House of Radio in Minsk on 12 March attracted a large audience, BelTA has learned.
The concert Friendship of Peoples featured Ecuadorian violinist Jorge Saade accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company. The orchestra was conducted by David Harutyunyan from Ecuador. The project was initiated by Ambassador of Ecuador to Belarus Carlos Larrea Davila. The musicians performed pieces by such notable Ecuadorian composers as Gerardo Guevara, Juan Carlos Urrutia, Jorge Oviedo, and Luis Torres.
The concert premiered Symphony No.3 by David Harutyunyan. Eminent Ecuadorian singer and songwriter Pamela Cortes also took part in the performance. An album was recorded during the concert.
Jorge Saade told BelTA that he already played in the Belarusian capital in October 2015. He said he likes Minsk and the welcoming Belarusian audience.
David Harutyunyan, who has Armenian and Ecuadorian roots, has also been to Belarus before. In the 1980s he visited Minsk when he worked with Moscow’s Sovremennik Theater. The musician believes that the city has changed for the better, it is clean and well maintained. Besides, he praised the beauty of Belarusian women.
The visit of the Ecuadorian musicians to Minsk and the concert were initiated by Ambassador of Ecuador to Belarus Carlos Larrea Davila. The project marked the first anniversary of the opening of the Ecuadorian Embassy in Minsk.
The musicians have plans to come to Belarus with new projects to acquaint the Belarusian audience with Ecuadorian music and art.
