MOSCOW, 14 September (BelTA) – The vice prime ministers of the CIS member states, who are attending the meeting of the CIS Economic Council, visited the Belarus Pavilion at the VDNKh expo center in Moscow on 14 September, BelTA has learned.
Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko and the director of the Belarus Pavilion managing company Gennady Romanenko provided explanations to the guests. The vice prime ministers got familiar with the pavilion and the running exposition. It features clothes, footwear, cosmetics, souvenirs, and food products. Gennady Romanenko told the quests about the exhibitions that took place in the pavilion recently.
Major renovations of Belarus Pavilion were completed at the end of 2016. The project lasted almost ten years. Now Moscow citizens and foreign visitors can can see the pavilion in its original design dating back to the early 1950s.
During the renovation project the specialists restored the building and its historic interiors to their former glory, in line with the original design. The facade and the sculpture Mother Belarus was restored by the famous Belarusian sculptor Andrei Bembel. The five copies of the historical Workers of Belarus sculptural composition are installed on the pediment of the pavilion on request and at the expense of Belarus. The composition features two-meter sculptures Dairymaid, Agriculture Worker, Collective Farm Worker, Hunter, and Machine Operator.
