MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – A center for Belarusian studies has opened at Sichuan International Studies University in China. The ceremony took place as part of the Days of Minsk Oblast in Chongqing and was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy and Minsk Oblast Governor Anatoly Isachenko, BelTA learned from the Embassy Belarus in China.
“The opening of the center for Belarusian studies at Sichuan International Studies University and engraving of the Yakub Kolas commemorative inscription in the Central Alley of the Chinese university are the main results of the visit,” the embassy said.
Belarus’ representatives held negotiations with rector of the university Dr. Li Keyong to discuss cooperation between higher and secondary educational establishments of Minsk and Minsk Oblast and the Chinese university in teacher training and exchange of students.
Ambassador Kirill Rudy visited High-Tech Zone in Chongqing and met with executive of the resident companies that specialize in software development (Fesco Logistic), manufacture of high-tech products in biomedicine (Precision Biotech) and information and communication technologies (UnitedBS).
The parties discussed possible avenues of cooperation between these companies and the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone and the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park.
