MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Active members of the BRSM Youth Union will present the Belarus Remembers patriotic project in Russia, Secretary of the BRSM Central Committee Aleksandra Goncharova told BelTA.
“Belarusian youth will present their volunteer projects in Russia. We will also introduce Russians to the Belarus Remembers patriotic project launched by the BRSM Youth Union and the Belarusian National Pioneer Organization. The main aim of the project is to revive and preserve the historic memory of heroic deeds, stories, and lives of every Belarusian who made their contribution to Belarus’ liberation and Great Victory. We do active search and research work to study our war past and to commemorate Fatherland defenders and the Great Patriotic War victims. Our activists will also present the Flowers of Great Victory project and share volunteer experience,” Aleksandra Goncharova said.
According to her, the BRSM activists will make part of the International Volunteer Team of the 75th Anniversary of Victory. “This project has been launched by the all-Russian Volunteers of Victory movement which unites over 200,000 volunteers from all over Russia who work to preserve the historic memory of World War II and promote war history knowledge using modern formats. The project aims to unite volunteers from different countries to organize major events timed to the 75th anniversary of the Victory. On 5-11 May, the international volunteer team will gather for an educational rally for the first time in Russia’s cities of Moscow and Tula. Belarusian volunteers will be on the team too,” Aleksandra Goncharova noted.
The Belarusian delegation includes the BRSM and regional volunteering movement coordinators and volunteers. “The agenda of the rally includes educational events on volunteering, volunteer engagement in large events, and other areas. Its participants will also volunteer at events timed to the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Tula Hero City,” Aleksandra Goncharova added.
